This is a Violence Prevention Motion tabled at the 2016 General Synod / Te Hīnota Whānui (GSTHW).
The Motion affirms working towards transforming unjust structures and that violence prevention is our church’s business. This points to two of the five Worldwide Anglican Communion’s Marks of Mission, which are:
- To transform unjust structures of society, to challenge violence of every kind and pursue peace and reconciliation, and
- To respond to human need by loving service
Some of the work is already active, in many of our circles, and some of it seeks collaboration.
